Data Fit

The Data Fit feature in Sitewise lets you size your study area according to a desired value for a particular variable. For example, you can use Data Fit to create a circle that is big enough to capture a population of 20,000 people. 

How to create a Data Fit Study Area 

Data Fit study areas can be created using circle or drivetime study areas. Apart from the initial site selection step (1), the remaining steps are identical for both types of data fit study areas.  
  1. Select a site 

    1. Selecting the  or  icon from the tool bar and select a location on the map or 
    2. Select a location and once the popup window appears, select the  or  icon.  
  2. Click on the  icon, in the study area window 

  3. Select a category from the dropdown menu
  4. Select a variable(s) to base the study area search on
    1. Where it makes sense, you can add multiple variables by holding CTRL while selecting the variables that you would like to include

      Select the number - not the variable title - when selecting a variable(s)
  5. Input a value for the selected variable which you would like the study area search to capture  
  6. Set your tolerance margin for error
  7. Click the ‘Determine Best Fit’ button  
  8. Sitewise will return the best fit for the study area based on your input parameters. If you are happy with the results, hit search, or else refine the inputs and try again. 
    1. Drivetime study areas may take a bit longer to compute the best fit.  
You can now browse the data for the study area in the Profile Tab
