Point Listings

The Point Listing tool allows you to export a list of sites within a specified search area. For example, if you wanted to pull a list of all competitors within a 5-minute drive of one of your locations, this is a tool to help you do this. This report can be useful for any relevant point data near a point of interest.

How to Create a Point Listing  

  1. On the layers panel, navigate to the layer you would like to create a Point Listing for. 
  2. Turn it on by checking the checkbox if it’s not already visible on the map.  
  3. Click on the layer name to expand the layer options.  
    1. Filters that have been applied to the layer will be reflected in the Point Listing output. If the filter icon is green, it's likely that a filter has been applied. 
  4. Click the Create a Point Listing icon.  
  5. Select either the Circle, Lasso, or Polygon options to create the search area.   
    1. Using the Circle:
      1. Click on the center point of the search and drag the cursor to increase the radius of the circle. Click a second time to start the search.   
    2. Using the Lasso: 
      1. Click on the center point of the search and guide the cursor to set the boundary of the search. Click a second time to start the search.  
    3. Using the Polygon: 
      1. Click on any point of the search boundary and keep clicking to create nodes along the boundary wall. Click on the first node or double click, to close the polygon boundary and search.   
  6. If there is a study area on the map, you will see an additional Existing option in the Point Listing window. This allows you to use an existing study area to generate the point listing report.  
    1. Using an Existing Study Area:   
      1. To use this option, create a study area or open a previous project from the My Projects tab.   
      2. If you have multiple study areas in your current project, the point listing report will, by default, use the 1st study area.   
      3. Click on the Existing icon.   
  7. As the report generates, a yellow box will appear at the bottom right of the screen letting you know the report is generating.  
  8. Once generated, the yellow box will provide a download link to the finished report. Click the link to download the report.  
Info
A few things to note about the results:
  1. The results will be a table in Excel format.   
  2. Each column will correspond to the fields contained in the layer used to create the point listing.   
  3. Each point will be included as a row in the table.   
  4. Each point will have a distance field included at the end, which is a straight-line distance from the center point of the search.
