Measuring Tool

This tool enables you to quickly measure distances and areas with ease in Sitewise.

How-To Use the Measuring Tool

  1. Navigate to an area of the map that you would like to measure.
  2. Click on the measuring tool icon  located on the left-hand side of the screen.
  3. Once selected, the icon will turn green and a yellow box with the ‘Measure Tool Help’ details will appear on the top left of the screen.

  4. To measure, click the starting location on the map. Once placed, a small box will appear on the screen to mark the starting location, and a dashed green line will follow the mouse.  The green line will show the distance that is being measured between the points.
  5. In the Measure Tool Help box, you’ll notice the Distance measurement. When 3 or more points are placed, the Area measurement will appear as well.
    1. The Distance refers to the straight-line distance between the points and the Area measures the territory within the outline.
    2. You can add as many vertices as needed to help measure the desired area.

  6. To start over or measure another area, click the reset button or the escape key on your keyboard. Click the close button when finished.
