Changing Demographic Subscriptions

Changing Demographic Subscriptions

Demographic subscriptions give you access to data that describes populations and their characteristics. We use study areas in Sitewise to pull these demographics about specific areas of interest. Your account may have one or more data subscriptions, depending on your market reach or specific data requirements. When creating a study area in Sitewise or when running a standard report like custom batch or rank report, the correct demographic subscription must be set before starting your work. This is especially important if you have subscriptions for different countries since the data is specific to the country.

We’ll review how to change your subscription in this article and how to change your default demographic subscription.

Switching Subscriptions in Sitewise

  1. Navigate to the Sitewise settings menu by clicking on the icon  at the top right corner.
  2. Beside your current subscription, click “change”.

  3. A Change Subscription pop-up window will appear. Click on the arrow to the right of the subscription name to view a list of all available subscriptions in your account.

  4. Select the desired subscription from the list and click OK to set it. When you switch subscriptions, it will start a new project.
Now that the subscription is set, we can create study areas and run standard Sitewise reports within the United States. You can find out more about study areas and projects here. If you were changing the subscription to generate one of the standard Sitewise reports, more information can be found in our reporting section.

We chose STI Popstats which provides demographics within the United States. For more information about this subscription and other available subscriptions throughout the US and Canada, check out our Demographics data section here.

Not all accounts have multiple demographic subscriptions. If you are looking for additional demographics that are not currently licensed, please reach out to Sitewise Support.

Changing Default Subscriptions

If you find that there is an ongoing need to work in a different demographic subscription that is not set as the default, administrative users can change the default subscription! Simply do the following:
  1. Go into the settings menu by selecting the icon .
  2. Select the projects tab on the left of the settings menu and select the demographic subscription you would like to set as the default from the dropdown menu.

  3. Click the “Save” button in the bottom right corner of the settings window
Notes
If you cannot view these options, please reach out to the designated administrator in your organization!
