Planned Locations (BuildCentral)

Planned Locations (BuildCentral)

BuildCentral collects data on planned building projects across the U.S., including residential developments, retail, and grocery constructions. The dataset includes:
  1. Project Title
  2. Project Value
  3. Construction Type (e.g., new build, renovation, expansion, repurposing)
  4. Sector (Public - government; Private - commercial; or both)
  5. Project Stage
  6. Bid Date
  7. Project Details (scope, usage, size, etc.)

Use Cases

  1. Is there a way to find up and coming markets with privately owned new builds?
  2. We typically do well in areas with government building, can you help us find where they are now or expanding to?

Methodology

BuildCentral gathers project data using electronic data harvesting methods that combine machine learning with human review. The data collection process begins at the planning stage of projects and continues through construction start and completion. Records are updated regularly to include project dates, contractor bid information, and other relevant details. Each project entry undergoes a double review by two team members before publication, and monthly audits are conducted to ensure data completeness and accuracy. Additional validation comes from user feedback.

Limitations

  1. The data may not include every planned project due to reliance on publicly available information and responses from project stakeholders. Some projects may be delayed, canceled, or modified without immediate updates reflected in the dataset.
