Map Styles & Street View

If the base map imagery displayed is not to your liking, you can choose from the 10 map styles available. Each of these provides different visual styles and highlights different features such as satellite imagery, street names, labels, etc.   

Changing Map Style 

1. Access the Map Style menu in the top bar of the Map tab.   
   
   
2. A menu of all available map styles will appear. Click on the image of the style you want to display.  

Icons may be more easily identifiable depending on the base map selected. For example, the light or dark basemap will make data pop on the map! 

Using Street View 

Sitewise is connected to the Google API which allows you to use the same street view option that is available in Google Maps. This functionality is available regardless of the map style chosen.  

Google Street View  

1. In the bottom right corner of the map, you will see a small yellow figure which is the Google Street view icon. 
2. Navigate to the desired location by zooming in to a location on the map. Alternatively, you can use the search bar if you have coordinates or an address you would like to zoom into.   
   
   
3. Next, click on the Google Street view icon at the bottom right corner and drag the icon onto the blue highlighted street you would like to view. When the icon is above the location you would like to view, release the mouse button.   
    
4. The screen will change from the map to Google Street view. You can move and view areas of interest by clicking around just as you would in Google Maps.  
5. To exit Google Street view, click the back arrow that appears in the box in the top left corner.
